Gabby, foreign au pair - 60701 Chicago

Dear family,

I am 21 years old and a recent graduate of college. I graduated with a bachelors degree in global affairs and international business. I am currently residing in Chicago, Illinois but I have lived all over the United States (as well as China). I am looking for a position that is starting late summer or early fall (August, September, October). I am not just looking for an employer and an easy job overseas, I am looking for a family that I can become a part of.
I have worked as an au pair before in Madrid. The experience that I had was so amazing, that I want to do it again with a whole new family. I became a member of my host families and I loved watching their children every day. By the time I left, all of the kids were speaking with great American accents and were even repeating common American phrases! Their transformation brought great joy to me. My career goals for the near future include helping children in any way. I believe that teaching English is a great way to impact a child's life. English is commonly coined as the bridge between cultures. Learning English will open up opportunities both in the business world as well as the social world. English provided endless opportunities to any child and being immersed in a new culture has a positive impact. I know this from personal experience. This opportunity does not exist in the United States and being an au pair is something I am really passionate about. I would love to return to Spain and make a difference in the life of a family by bringing my culture as well as through teaching English.
