Hi!
My name is Renee. I am in my 9th year of preschool teaching. I have cared for infants, toddlers and preschool children in the Head Start program, Montessori schools and Lakeshore Kids & Company! A handful of these programs included caring for children with learning disabilities and IEPs- giving me valuable experience and knowledge. I am a very emotionally intelligent person with a lot a patience! I am currently an Assistant Lead toddler teacher at UCLA for the Early Care and Education program. We work with a lot of families that work for UCLA Health. My personal teaching philosophy includes many different teaching styles as well as learning styles. I enjoy guiding young children through their new found emotions and talents. Putting meaningful curriculum together is a specialty of mine! Working with families in the home creates a bridge between learning and incorporating real everyday life materials. For example, as I care for a child and it’s time to eat, I would include the child as best I can based on their abilities. I learned this way of teaching while I earned my BA in Family and Consumer Science while focusing on Child Development and Family Studies. Additionally, I hold a California Child Development Master Teacher permit. I am looking for something long term (6 months to a year), 30-40 hours per week and am open to different hours as needed.
